How It Works

Start with the production, not the fixture list.

The process filters projects early, chooses the appropriate service and separates creative design from technical implementation.

Initial Project Review

The Initial Project Review is free. We review the questionnaire, script and available material to check project suitability, identify missing information and determine the appropriate service. It is a preliminary project screening only; it does not include the detailed analysis or design recommendations provided by a Production Lighting Assessment or Lighting Design service.

2 · Fixed or individual

Service & Scope

Projects with clearly bounded design requirements can proceed through a Defined-Scope Lighting Design with a fixed service fee. Projects requiring broader dramaturgical, technical or touring development may proceed through the Production Lighting Assessment or an individually scoped Production Lighting Design.

3 · Creative process

Design Review & Approval

Production Lighting Design begins with the Creative Design Concept, followed by two structured review rounds and final Design Approval before complete technical documentation is produced.

4 · Implementation

Your technician brings it to the stage

The documentation defines visual intent and technical functions. The production technician typically handles console programming, venue adaptation, fixture substitution, setup, focusing and show operation.
